Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Athabasca Public Library and Archives Society (FAPLAS) are a group of enthusiastic, community minded individuals with a passion for libraries and all that they bring to the community. As a fundraising arm of the Alice B. Donahue Library and Archives, FAPLAS raises funds to help with everything from programming to capital projects.

The Friends are a newly established society that was formed in late 2023, but that hasn't stopped them from jumping in head first! Last year the Friends donated over 400 homemade Swedish meatballs to A Taste of Athabasca - A One Book, One Community event that saw over 420 attendees.

Upcoming Projects:

A Taste of Athabasca

The Friends are working hard, in partnership with the Lions Club of Athabasca, to bring A Taste of Athabasca back for another year!

If you would like to sign up to be a food participant, scan the QR code above or stop in at the library to pick up a paper copy.

How to help:

The Friends of the Athabasca Public Library and Archives Society is always looking for new members and volunteers to help. If you are interested in joining FAPLAS in their fundraising efforts please click here.
